They usually already know your not their sponsor, but who will be writing to them. She have gone years without letters. Compassion actually asks you to talk to them just like your own sponsor child or children. I always open my first letter to my correspondent children in their first letters saying that I will be writing to them now and that I hope to get to know a lot about them.

Allen, what prompted you to sponsor from LK504? I am considering a child from Sri Lanka and was hoping you would share a little from your experience since it is one of the newest Compassion countries. BTW, are you back in Japan or here in the states? Thanks.

All of your post are simply amazing. I think it is beautiful how people can love one another so far apart and without even knowing much of one another nor actually meeting. This is definitely God's work in us. I know many of you have a long relationship with your child and even met a few of them. I hope I can be privileged enough to do the same for my sponsored children. Thank you guys for sharing your love with your children here!

I do not have tv or cellphone. I have cheaper car insurance because I d4on't allow anyone to drive my car unless they have had a license for over 10 years and I save on petrol by walking to work when possible.I also do not use my heat. Its turned right off from march to oct if its not snowing and ill run it for maybe an hour or two until it reaches above freezing

I was at an event at my church and Compassion were there asking if people wanted to sponsor. People were asked to raise their hands. As the woman walked around I was praying about it and really felt at that moment to put my hand up. When I opened my eyes the woman was right next to me, and handed me a picture of Mei - I knew immediately I was meant to sponsor her...hard to put into words, but I felt at peace and as if everything was as it should be!

For Ratthapon I had been getting used to the websites and saw a picture of him asking for sponsors. What can I say, I feel in love with his beautiful face, and he reminds me of my 19 month old son. For a week I prayed about sponsoring him and asking God to guide me. 2 days ago God confirmed it to me as Ratthapon was still there and I couldn't stop thinking about the little man.

I'm blessed and excited to say that I now sponsor Mei and Ratthapon. My daughter who is 11 can't wait to help writing to them both. I really do believe that they are already a blessing to us as I pray we will be to them :)

My 3 Peru kids are pretty regular with the every two month rule (now that I got my first letters from my newer few). Its almost exactly 2 months from the time they wrote their letter to the time it was in my mailbox so that was nice. They are pretty special kids :)
